The Family Halloween Express includes a round-trip excursion with a cast of  interactive characters and musical entertainment. This experience is perfect for families with children ten years and younger to share! 

Onboard excursion guides will serve you with local charm and knowledge. Enhance your tour by adding on our Chef-prepared, prairie-inspired lunch and sharing boxes to enjoy onboard along the way.

Breathe in the crisp, clean air, take in the expansive living skies. Out of your window, the vast and diverse agriculture, scenery, and wildlife are visible. Sit comfortably rocking to the train’s rhythm or explore each of our historic refurbished railcars. There’s much to discover aboard the Wheatland Express! Please stop by our 1950’s Diner Car to wet your whistle and grab a snack or visit the onboard Gift Store.

Fare includes 2.5-3 hour round-trip tour, face-painting, children’s entertainment, and treat. 

Sample Tour Itinerary

One hour before departure, passengers will check-in, complete pre-boarding screening and collecting their boarding passes.

Noon – Tour Departs from the Station
1:00 PM – Half-way point for the locomotive to switch
1:30 PM – Tour departs for the return trip
2:30 PM – Arrival back at the station. Passengers de-train.

As of October 1, 2021, all passengers will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to participate in tours. Masks will be required at all times unless seated in your designated seat.

COVID-19 Requirements

As of October 1, 2021, all guests and staff are required to show acceptable proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

These include:

  • A QR code/MySaskHealthRecord vaccine certificate either printed or on the patron’s mobile device as a screenshot or in SK Vax Wallet;
  • A printed hard copy of MySaskHealthRecord vaccine certificate with or without a QR code;
  • Wallet cards issued at the time of vaccinations; and
  • A COVID-19 vaccination printout from Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) public health.

Individuals who do not have proof of vaccination have the option of providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from within the previous 72 hours. A self-administered take-home rapid antigen test will not be accepted as valid proof of negative COVID-19 results.

ID will be required from anyone 18 and older. Youth aged 12-17 will also need to show ID unless accompanied by an adult with proof of vaccination and ID.
